Flat Rock Village Council To Offer Town Hall Meetings (June 25, 2021)
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Flat Rock, North Carolina, June 25, 2021—The Flat Rock Village Council will begin a series of town hall meetings for the village community, starting July 8. These meetings will be held in various locations in the Village of Flat Rock to give residents a way to get involved with their local government and talk with their elected leaders.
“It’s important that council members hear citizens’ priorities and concerns,” said Mayor Nick Weedman. “Having these town halls at various locations in the evening lets us have conversations in a more informal setting and at a time that allows those unable to come to day-time council meetings to attend.”
Each meeting will follow a format of brief introductions by village officials and then an extended time for attendees to provide input and ask questions on topics that are important to them.
The first town hall event will be held Thursday, July 8, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Pinecrest Presbyterian Church (1790 Greenville Highway, on the corner of Greenville Highway and N. Highland Lake Road). Subsequent town halls will meet on August 12, September 9, October 14, and November 12, with locations to be announced on the village website (villageofflatrock.org) and Facebook page.
