Village Clerk Position Notice The Village of Flat Rock is seeking a full time Village Clerk to maintain all official Village records and perform duties required by law. The Clerk also serves as the Tax Collector for the Village and maintains the Village budget and accounting records. The Clerk attends all meetings of the Village Council and records, transcribes and distributes all meeting minutes. The Clerk is responsible for staffing the Village office and performing other duties detailed in the position description.

Minimum educational requirements are a high school diploma, GED or other certificate of competency, and should be supplemented by at least five years of responsible work experience involving office management using business and accounting skills. Certification by the North Carolina Association of Municipal Clerks is also preferred. Must be able to work in a unique historical community with specific issues and concerns and demonstrate personal integrity in dealing with all facets of the position.
